OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY VILLAGE WEST

Madison, WI

This major senior life plan community was aging and wished to attract a younger demographic to their  campus. The multi-phased project maintained existing residents' occupancy with minimal moves into a new health center, new independent living apartments and an expanded menu of amenities including multiple dining venues and an extensive wellness center.

SIENA ON THE LAKE

Racine, WI

​

The collaboration of The Dominican Sisters of Racine and a local senior living provider resulted in the repurposing of the convent overlooking Lake Michigan. The original mid-century chapel and several service buildings were retained allowing all residential care levels to be constructed in new buildings and phased. The master plan included ILU apartments, apartments for the remaining Sisters, a large religious retreat meeting center, skilled nursing and assisted living.

TRINITY WOODS (formerly Oklahoma Methodist Manor)

Tulsa, OK

The large, but aging, life plan campus needed to replace and add to their assisted living, main campus kitchen and to add memory support assisted living. In a previous construction phase, they had already added over 100 independent living apartments and repositioned their skilled nursing into small households. Additionally, the client wanted to complement their physical and spiritual  wellness centers with an intellectual wellness center. Thus a large community performance and meeting addition was included.

ANDRUS ON HUDSON

Hastings-on-Hudson, NY

Located  just north of New York City and just blocks from the Hudson River, the  nursing building was functionally obsolete and the client desired an expansion of services into independent , assisted, and affordable independent living. The solution was phased repurposing and updating the existing building for a reduced skilled nursing population and centralized community center and added the care levels

FELICIAN VILLAGE

Manitowoc, WI

It was imperative that during this major campus repositioning no residents would be forced to move off campus. Thus a carefully planned phasing of new assisted living and skilled nursing was put in place with enclosed connections between all areas. New offices, PT/OT gym, chapel, convenience store/bistro and meeting rooms were included.

SPANISH COVE

Yukon, OK

The demand for senior memory care and additional sub-acute re-hab skilled nursing was the first phase of this campus' repositioning. Following phases included replacement of aging independent living apartments and added community spaces including wellness rooms, large meeting and performance center and multiple dining venues.

PARK HOMES at PARKSIDE

Hillsboro, KS

​

Knowing that the traditional approach to skilled nursing was failing, Park Homes embarked on the construction of small stand-alone SNF houses for their residents and converting the existing SNF structure to assisted living and resident amenities. The plan provided two distinct and secure courtyards for residents and visitors. One passive highly landscaped with a kitchen garden and one active where residents and grandchildren could play.

COLLINGTON

Mitchellville, MD

​

Located just outside Washington, DC this life plan community had become somewhat aged with occasional updates. The new plan provided for the replacement of older townhomes on campus and included a new community and wellness center along with a prominent green mall connecting the various areas of campus with a gathering place.

VINSON HALL

McClean, VA

​

This life plan community, bifurcated by a highway, had been added to over the years but had suffered due to a lack of centralized services and an overall sense of community. Additionally, the original independent living structure required updating and appropriate staffing was difficult in the highly competitive DC area. One proposed solution was to construct affordable housing for staff on campus and to phase replacement and consolidation projects.

MEADOWLARK HILLS

Manhattan, KS

Sited on a challenging topographic site, Meadowlark Hills wanted to expand their care programs, both assisted and skilled nursing, with small household approaches incorporating "culture change." The master plan provided that expansion with strategically located structures that took advantage of what many felt was unusable portions of the site.
